Many believers carry doubt like contraband, something to be hidden, certainly not admitted in church.
But Scripture is remarkably relaxed about honest doubt. Thomas asked for evidence and got it. The father who said I believe, help my unbelief was not corrected; his son was healed. The psalmists ask how long with a bluntness that would make most small groups uncomfortable.
What Scripture is not relaxed about is indifference. Doubt that keeps asking is a form of engagement. It is faith working, not faith failing.
Do not lean on your own understanding does not mean stop thinking. It means stop making your comprehension the load bearing wall. You can hold questions you cannot answer and still trust a Person you have come to know.
Bring the doubt with you. He is not fragile, and He is not surprised.
